Blackbushe is able to provide a de-icing service using Killfrost RDF. This product is designed to remove frost and ice from aircraft surfaces, but does not have any holdover time so is not suitable for conditions where re-freezing is likely to occur.
Killfrost is supplied by Blackbushe in two forms:
Self-De-ice
A 1 litre hand-held sprayer containing a 50/50 mix of RDF to Hot Water.
£10 including VAT
Attended De-ice
Airport staff will complete the de-icing operation, using steps to reach taller horizontal stabilisers. This attended deice includes up to 40 litres of 50/50 mix of RDF to Hot Water.
£280 including VAT (additional fluid charged at £50 per 10L)
Deicing will only be conducted with the pilot or operator in attendance and it remains the pilot’s responsibility to ensure that the aircraft is suitably free of ice before flying.
