car / motorbike meetings

Blackbushe Airport has a large car park for up to 180 vehicles. At lunchtimes and weekends this car park can nearly reach capacity, so we manage carefully the use of the site for car or motorcycle meets.

Pre-arrangement

If you are planning a meeting of more than 5 vehicles, we ask that this is pre-arranged with the airport. There is a grass paddock that can be opened when the weather is dry to allow vehicles to be parked together.

To ensure the car park is available for those using the airport, we only accommodate one group at a time. Currently, all Sunday mornings are reserved with regular groups. If you’re planning a meeting of more than 5 vehicles on a Sunday, we ask that you find an alternative venue. Unplanned groups will be turned away.

Use the contact form below and our Cafe Manager, Kierin, will be in touch.

Pegasus & The Paddock

During the summer months we will endeavour to open the paddock for pre-arranged meetings, and the Pegasus horsebox to serve drinks. This relieves the pressure on the main cafe. When the weather is poor, an area of hard standing near the airport terminal will be coned off.

Car Meeting Organisation

Neither The Pathfinder Cafe nor Blackbushe Airport Ltd is an “organiser” of any meetings. Each meeting must have a designated person responsible for managing attendees. This person will provide an estimate of expected number of vehicles and be the point of contact in the event of any issues with the attendees. Groups must conduct themselves in a manner which does not interfere with the normal use of the airport site for aviation activities, including driving slowly on site and refraining from anti-social driving practices described below.

DRIVER BEHAVIOUR

Unfortunately in the past we’ve been let down by groups who drive in an anti-social manner, including the excessive revving of engines, driving too fast within the car park (15mph limit), and aggressive acceleration or wheel spinning out of the car park onto the A30. We have a zero tolerance policy towards this sort of behaviour, and the entire group will be asked to leave and no longer permitted to meet at Blackbushe.

For this reason, we also don’t accept meetings of ‘modified’ vehicles, hot hatches, etc as these types of groups tend to attract anti-social driving practices.

Please remember there are flying schools who are often conducting ground school lessons or written exams, and so excessive revving of engines can disturb this. The cafe is also popular with families, and small children can be walking or riding their scooters and bikes in the car park. Please drive responsibly.

Evening Events

The airport closes at 6pm most days, and the car park is locked at this time. The Pathfinder Cafe closes at 4pm daily. We do not generally entertain evening meetings, unless pre-booked for dining. See our private event page.
